Job Summary
The City of Kelowna is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cookie Baking Instructor to lead children and teen cookie baking classes this winter. Classes will run every Wednesday from January to mid-March from 4 -7pm. This is a contract position with the possibility for continuation based on performance and program needs.
As an instructor, you will teach children and youth (ages approx. 6–16) fundamental cookie baking skills in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. This is a great chance for someone who is passionate about teaching kids and giving back to our community.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead weekly cookie baking classes, offering a new recipe each week
Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning setting
Encourage creativity and teamwork among participants
Manage time and supplies effectively for each session

Set up and clean up baking space each week
Communicate any incidents, supply needs, or concerns to the Program Coordinator
Follow all City of Kelowna safety and hygiene policies

Qualifications





Experience teaching or working with children and/or teens in a kitchen or instructional setting
Solid knowledge of basic baking techniques and safety practices
Food Safe Level 1 certification (required)
Current Emergency First Aid & CPR-C (required, or willing to obtain)

Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (required)
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Ability to engage and motivate young learners
