About the Client:

We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for a mother living in Brampton with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. She is largely independent and does not wander, but requires supervision for safety and assistance with daily tasks. She speaks English but is most comfortable communicating in Tagalog. The family is Filipino and values cultural connection and understanding. The home environment is supportive, with family members involved in her care, though they need consistent skilled support to ensure her wellbeing.

Responsibilities:

- Provide supervision throughout the day and overnight to ensure safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed
- Manage medication reminders and assist with administration
- Perform light housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry
- Provide transportation for errands and medical appointments
- Offer memory prompts and gentle redirection as needed
- Maintain a calm, patient presence and engage positively with the client
- Communicate clearly and regularly with family members about care updates

What We're Looking For:

- Certified PSW with experience in Alzheimer's and dementia care
- Tagalog speaker strongly preferred for ease of communication
- Valid driver's license and comfortable providing transportation
- Calm, patient demeanor with ability to bring positive energy
- Reliable, consistent, and takes initiative when needed
- Strong communication skills with family members
- Respectful of client's independence while ensuring safety




- Experience with memory care, supervision, and medication management

Schedule:

This is a live-in position requiring overnight care, ideally 5-7 days per week. The family is flexible and can accommodate one day off per week to ensure caregiver wellbeing and longevity in the role. Start date is flexible, with the family looking to begin in October or shortly thereafter. This is initially a month-to-month arrangement as the family assesses long-term care needs, with potential to transition into a permanent long-term position in the new year.
