We are seeking a highly motivated Control Panel Assembly Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing control panels used in various industrial applications. Your expertise will ensure that each control panel meets rigorous quality standards and functions reliably in demanding environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge electrical components and mechanical systems, contributing directly to the production of high-quality control solutions.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret various electrical and layout schematics.
Assembly and wiring of electrical control panels including layout back-plates and front panel cutouts
Determine wiring sequence, layout, and location when information not provided
Properly identify wiring and other components
Terminate wires in a neat, reliable and repeatable manner
Apply consistency in wiring and assembly method for units of the same order.
Conduct final assembly; install panels and doors, inspect paint surface and alignment of doors and panels.
Drilling and tapping tasks
Component mounting
Hole punching tasks
Power and control wiring
Work to CSA,
UL codes and company quality requirements.
Repair and modify any errors detected by test/inspection.
Safe operation of hand tools and small power tools
Assist with on-site installations
Other duties as requested by the manager for manufacturing purposes
Qualifications
2+ years of panel building experience in Canada
Knowledge of CSA, UL codes
Ability to read electrical schematics and comprehend work instructions
Ability to work in a rapid paced and team-oriented environment
Ability to lift minimum of 35 lbs. (continuously)
Good hand/ eye coordination
Good inter personnel skills
Basic computer skills
Capable of operating computerized wire marker printer equipment
Ability to safely operate hand tools and various powered hand tools (drills/knock out sets etc.)
Excellent command of the English Language
Able to travel to customer sites
