Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Abatement Worker or Supervisor to join our team. This role involves safely removing hazardous materials and performing restoration tasks in various environments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in challenging conditions to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Duties
Safely remove hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead-based paint, or mould from buildings and structures
Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment to perform abatement tasks
Assist with demolition and removal of contaminated materials during restoration projects
Prepare work sites by setting up containment areas and ensuring proper safety protocols are followed
Clean work areas thoroughly after abatement procedures are completed
Follow all safety guidelines and regulations throughout the project lifecycle
Assist with the setup and operation of specialized equipment for material removal and disposal
Skills
Experience with cleaning, handling hazardous materials, or construction is preferred
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in abatement and restoration work
Knowledge of construction or restoration processes is a plus
Ability to work safely in potentially hazardous environments while adhering to safety protocols
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Good physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in various environmental conditions
