Provide essential personal support as a Part time Personal Support Worker with VON. Your expertise will enhance client independence through direct homemaking and personal care services in this adaptable role.
As a Personal Support Worker at VON, you'll engage directly in the home support program with a commitment to improve client wellbeing. Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams while conducting assessments and developing care plans that meet individual needs.
This part time position consists of a 0.6 FTE commitment, working days and evenings which may include weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Observe and evaluate client's home and personal situation
Contribute to the development of care plans
Implement necessary changes in care for client safety
Provide light housekeeping and meal preparation
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene tasks
Requirements:
High school diploma required
CCA Certification mandatory in Nova Scotia
First Aid or CPR certification
Experience with elderly or ill individuals
Access to a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license
