Make a difference with Lookout Housing and Health Society as a Harm Reduction Worker, supporting clients with various needs through an impactful harm reduction program. This casual role includes diverse shifts and responsibilities focused on harm reduction practices and client education.
As part of Lookout’s Harm Reduction Program, the Harm Reduction Worker will oversee needle distribution, assist clients with resource access, and educate on harm reduction methods. Ideal candidates will possess solid communication skills and a desire to support individuals facing complex challenges, including substance abuse and mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide oversight and education for the Harm Reduction program
• Assist staff with implementing approved harm reduction practices
• Help clients access information on community resources
• Maintain accurate records in manual and computerized systems
• Support a protected setting by responding to emergencies
Requirements:
• Certificate in social services or Grade 12 with 2 years experience
• Current First Aid Level 1 Certificate and negative TB Test
• Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract
• Training in Naloxone and Crisis Intervention is an asset
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
