Position Information
This is a corporate position, with Civic as Home Campus.
Rotation/Shifts
Days, and evenings, 8 and 12 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements
- Current certificate of competence in the province of Ontario;
- B.Sc.N OR a College Diploma in Registered Nursing combined with a minimum five (5) years current related nursing experience;
- Minimum two (2) years of Surgical Daycare or Perioperative clinical nursing experience;
- Two (2) years leadership experience;
- Demonstrated leadership ability;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and the application related to staff development and performance review as well as a commitment to actively participate in the process;
- Demonstrated knowledge of CQI process and participation in the process;
- Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication;
- Demonstrated commitment to personal continuing education and ongoing staff education, unit projects and committees.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree;
- Unit/hospital committee membership;
- Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced). The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English-speaking clients.
