Construction technology company seeking an experienced and delivery-focused Project Delivery Specialist to work on site with general contractor clients on major construction projects in Vancouver. The Project Delivery Specialist will drive projects day to day using a construction planning software platform and the Last Planner methodology, improving team workflow, streamlining reporting and increasing overall job efficiency through strong leadership in planning, scheduling and resource management. Salary range is $90,000 – $130,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full time permanent role.
The Project Delivery Specialist is a full-time, on-site member of the project team for the duration of each engagement. The role works closely with the client's project management, construction management and scheduling teams, partnered subcontractors and an internal team of customer success, scheduling and data analytics specialists.
Key Responsibilities of Project Delivery Specialist: Set up and configure the planning platform, linking it to the existing project schedule in Primavera P6
Load the detailed workplan and support subcontractors with their weekly inputs
Workshop the schedule with client project and construction management teams and partnered subcontractors to establish the detailed workplan
Run the weekly collaborative planning meeting and lookahead meetings
Update the weekly work plan in line with progress status and any amendments to the plan
Liaise with contractors on site daily to monitor progress against the plan
Run daily whiteboard meetings, scheduler 1-1s and package manager 1-1s by discipline (electrical, mechanical, architectural, etc.)
Manage weekly P6 import/export for construction and commissioning tasks
Report against P6 milestones upstream to the client's schedule team
Track SPI, CPI and PPC on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Present project metrics to project leaders, highlighting areas for improvement and key learnings
Train all users on the platform and the Last Planner approach, including client management and subcontractors
Deliver regular refresher training to maintain platform compliance
Empower on-site super users / champions to drive adoption throughout the project lifecycle
Support construction managers in daily coordination meetings
Issue executive reports and variance analysis, resolve issues and gather contractor performance feedback
Continuously review and optimise the process to find efficiencies
Required Knowledge & Skills of Project Delivery Specialist: Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline; or an acceptable combination of education and experience
A minimum of [X]+ years' experience in construction planning, scheduling or project coordination with a general contractor
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
Experience with, or strong understanding of, Last Planner System / lean construction principles
Familiarity with project performance metrics (SPI, CPI, PPC)
Confident running meetings and delivering training to site teams and subcontractors
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence adoption on site
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
