The Opportunity Shermco Canada is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (P.Eng.) to join our growing Saskatchewan engineering team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems for a diverse client base. You will be based out of our Saskatoon or Regina office, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work for candidates located within Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff

Plan, manage, and execute electrical engineering projects across industrial and utility sectors

Perform power system analysis and design, including both new installations and system upgrades

Design and integrate protective relaying systems (SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider, or similar platforms)

Support substation automation solutions, including RTUs, HMIs, communications, and control systems

Conduct electrical studies such as:

Short-circuit and coordination studies

Arc-flash hazard analysis

Load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies

Create, review, and approve electrical drawing packages, including:

Single-line and three-line diagrams

Schematics, wiring diagrams,



and general arrangements

Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, CTs/PTs, protective devices, relays, and controls

Troubleshoot electrical system issues and develop practical, client-focused solutions

Support field services teams during maintenance, commissioning, and site activities as needed

Perform onsite inspections and technical data collection

Contribute to proposal development, estimates, and technical input for client engagements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Registered Skilled Engineer (P.Eng.) in Saskatchewan

8+ years of overall experience, including a minimum of 3+ years of experience obtained after earning P.Eng. designation, in relevant power systems engineering.

Experience with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) is an asset

Familiarity with protection relays and substation/automation systems is an asset

Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications

Willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Pay Range
CAD $120,000.00 - CAD $130,000.00 /Yr.
