DHL Express has a casual Courier Driver opening in Ottawa, ON, paying $23.33/hour with increases set by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is a casual position with no fixed schedule; availability is required between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. A valid G Licence and a clean driving record are required.
The role combines driving a van for deliveries and pick-ups with warehouse duties including scanning, sorting and freight checks.
Responsibilities
Drive a van to complete assigned deliveries and pick-ups within tight time constraints
Lift and carry parcels up to 70 lbs per piece throughout the shift
Scan and process freight according to agreed procedures and Security Policies
Sort in-bound material accurately by deadlines
Move freight within the warehouse area as required
Assist the Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts and on‑hand items
Interact with customers in person and by phone
Perform accurate reporting and participate in warehouse organization and clean‑up
Maintain a safe and cooperative work environment and meet all security requirements
Requirements
Valid G Licence and clean driving record (required)
High school diploma or equivalence (required)
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for long periods throughout the shift (required)
MS Office proficiency including comfortable use of Excel (required)
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team workplace (required)
Ability to multi‑task and work under pressure with tight deadlines (required)
Broad general knowledge of warehouse functions (required)
Ability to handle bulky, heavy and awkward shipments (required)
One year of warehouse or customer service experience (asset)
Understanding of First Choice Programs and Global SOP (asset)
