The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver (JCC) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bridge Director to lead and grow our Bridge program on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning November 3, 2026.

The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver is a welcoming and inclusive community centre offering recreational, cultural, educational and social programs for people of all ages and backgrounds. Our programs create opportunities for people to learn, connect and build community.

About the Role
The Bridge Director will oversee the JCC’s Bridge program and create a welcoming, organized and engaging environment for players of varying skill levels.

This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of Bridge who enjoys teaching, working with people and building community around the game. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, coordinating program logistics and creating an enjoyable experience for both new and experienced players.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate and deliver the JCC’s Bridge programming on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Direct Bridge games and ensure play is organized, welcoming and consistent with established rules and standard.

Teach or coordinate Bridge instruction for beginner, intermediate and experienced players.

Create opportunities for new players to learn the game and become part of the JCC’s Bridge community.

Build positive relationships with participants and foster a friendly,



inclusive and respectful environment.

Work with JCC staff to develop the program schedule, manage registration and communicate with participants.

Support promotion and outreach activities to increase participation in Bridge programming.

Monitor participation and provide recommendations for program growth and improvement.

Assist with program budgets, supplies and other administrative requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Strong knowledge of Bridge and experience playing, teaching and/or directing.

Experience directing duplicate Bridge games. ACBL Director certification is an asset.

Strong teaching and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively with players at different skill levels.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

A warm, patient and community-minded approach.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage program logistics independently.

Experience working with older adults and/or in a community or recreational setting is an asset.
