Lumenwerx is a leading architectural lighting manufacturer recognized for innovative luminaires used in prominent commercial, institutional, and architectural projects across North America.

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Product Division as part of the Applied Engineering team. In this entry-level position, you will work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists who transform customer requirements into engineered luminaire solutions for high-profile projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply your mechanical engineering and SolidWorks knowledge in a practical manufacturing environment while developing your technical, product, and project-management skills. The position offers strong potential for professional growth within Lumenwerx.

What You Will Do

Review customer specifications, architectural drawings, and project requirements.

Develop 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for customer approval and production.

Create project-specific luminaire configurations using existing 3D assemblies.

Prepare mechanical and electrical details for engineered lighting solutions.

Produce detailed layouts, verify dimensions, and confirm component clearances.

Review dimensional information and revise drawings as required.

Collaborate with engineers, project managers,



production teams, and other internal departments.

Prepare supporting technical documentation, including:

Bills of Materials

Service drawings

Wiring schematics

As-built drawings

Ensure drawings and documentation meet established engineering standards and quality requirements.

Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

What We Are Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks.

Ability to understand mechanical assemblies and interpret technical drawings.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.

Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Interest in manufacturing, product engineering, architectural products, or lighting.

Additional Assets

Knowledge of an ERP system.

Experience creating Bills of Materials.

Academic, internship, or project experience related to lighting, manufacturing, sheet metal, extrusion design, or mechanical assemblies.
