Make a difference as a Youth Worker in the Cooking For Life program at Covenant House. This full time contract position is focused on youth engagement and support in a 24/7 environment.
The CFL Youth Worker will implement Covenant House’s mission while aiding youth in developing essential employment readiness, life skills, and culinary abilities. The ideal candidate will use a strengths-based approach to foster personal growth, resilience, and confidence within youth. The role involves direct support, skill facilitation, and coordination for successful training program delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build supportive relationships with youth in a safe environment
• Conduct individual and group check-ins for participant wellbeing
• Provide coaching on workplace readiness and communication skills
• Assist youth in accessing wraparound services and navigating challenges
• Support Chef Instructor and facilitate culinary learning in the kitchen
Requirements:
• Degree in Child and Youth Care or related field
• Minimum two years' experience with at-risk youth
• Experience facilitating workshops and life skills programming
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices
• Excellent relationship-building and crisis intervention skills
