Location: Various locations across Ontario

As aPlans Examiner/Plan Reviewer, you will be responsible for reviewing andapproving building plans and construction documents to ensure compliance withlocal codes, regulations, and standards. Your role will be essential infacilitating the permit process and ensuring that construction projects meetall required safety and design criteria.

KeyResponsibilities:

- Review and analyze buildingplans, blueprints, and construction documents for compliance with localbuilding codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
- Assess the technical aspectsof plans, including structural integrity, fire safety, accessibility, andenergy efficiency.
- Provide feedback andrecommendations for plan modifications to ensure compliance and resolveissues.
- Collaborate with architects,engineers,



and contractors to address technical concerns and clarify coderequirements.
- Issue permits and approvalsfor construction projects based on plan reviews and complianceassessments.
- Prepare detailed reports onplan reviews, approvals, and code compliance for documentation andrecord-keeping.
- Stay updated on changes tobuilding codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensureaccurate and current assessments.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders,including property owners, builders, and municipal officials, to facilitate thepermit and approval process.

Requirements

- Relevant certification ordiploma in Building Inspection, Architectural Technology, Engineering, ora related field.
- Proven experience as a plansexaminer, plan reviewer, or in a similar role, with a strong understandingof building codes and regulations.
- Excellent analytical skillswith the ability to interpret complex plans and technical documents.
- Solid attention to detailand organizational skills for managing plan reviews and documentation.
- Effective communicationskills for interacting with various stakeholders and providing clearguidance.
- Ability to stay current with evolving buildingcodes, regulations, and industry practices.
