Working under the Principal's guidance, the Educational Assistant collaborates with school staff to aid students with various needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. Responsibilities include administering special programs, participating in pool activities, and providing academic support, all while handling sensitive information. You will also be involved in outdoor duties and require a adaptable approach to meet individual student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities
• Implement academic and special programs for diverse learners
• Conduct physiotherapy exercises and stretches for students
• Perform outside yard duties and assist with toileting
• Observe and record behaviour data for student progress
Requirements:
• Community college diploma in Developmental Services or related field
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience with special needs children
• Valid First Aid certification is an asset
• Completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
• Strong observational and recording skills for behaviour data
