The Hydrogeologist will support hydrogeological activities for Denison's Wheeler River Project, with a focus on wellfield development, field data collection, groundwater monitoring, and hydrogeological analysis.
This role will work closely with the Technical Services and project teams to support the development and optimization of the Phoenix Project.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Support hydrogeological field programs, including drilling, well installation, hydrogeological testing, groundwater and surface water sampling and monitoring
Collect, compile, review, and manage hydrogeological and wellfield data from field and digital monitoring systems
Monitor and report on water levels, flows, pressures, and other near-real-time wellfield data
Support pumping tests and provide field oversight of drilling and testing contractors as required
Assist with hydrogeological analysis, data interpretation, visualization, and groundwater modelling
Support the development of technical reports, progress updates, presentations, proposals, and other project documentation
Work with multidisciplinary teams to support hydrogeological investigations, research, and wellfield optimization
Assist with the development and improvement of hydrogeological data management and modelling practices
Follow all health, safety, and environmental requirements and support a safe and collaborative work environment
You are a detail-oriented and collaborative professional with an interest in hydrogeology and the opportunity to develop your skills in a remote project environment. You are comfortable working in the field, learning new systems and technologies, and working with multidisciplinary teams.
In addition, you have: Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
Up to 3 years of relevant work experience
Field work and experience with hydrogeological monitoring equipment are assets
Familiarity with hydrogeological testing, groundwater monitoring, sampling, or filed data collection is an asset
Experience with hydrogeological analysis or modelling software such as AQTESOLV or FEFLOW is an asset
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
Robust written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing
Proficiency with MS Office and the ability to learn new software and digital tools
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
Solid commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices
Ability and willingness to work in remote field environmental and varying weather conditions
Valid Class 5 driver's license
