The City of Greater Sudbury is actively hiring distribution and collection operators at various levels, including relief operator and operator A/B. You will gain hands-on experience in water and wastewater systems, performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs. This role provides opportunities to collaborate with a dedicated team focused on infrastructure improvement and public service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain water distribution and wastewater collection systems
• Respond to service disruptions and perform emergency repairs
• Inspect and repair hydrants, valves, and watermains
• Install and maintain piping systems, fixtures, and equipment
• Conduct routine field and lab testing, including pressure testing
Requirements:
• Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12)
• Operator in Training certification or ability to obtain
• Minimum one year of experience in water/wastewater operations
• Knowledge of the Ontario Protected Drinking Water Act
• Valid Ontario Class G license, Class DZ preferred
