IWK Health seeks an Associate Physician for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Halifax. Provide critical care to neonates while collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team.
This permanent full-time position plays a vital role in the NICU at IWK Health, ensuring comprehensive patient care and engaging in continuous quality improvement initiatives. You will work closely with Neonatologists and a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to enhance education and research efforts within the unit, ensuring top-tier care for our youngest patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct patient care rounds and daily care activities
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary NICU team
• Perform procedures like point-of-care ultrasound
• Communicate effectively with families and referring physicians
• Participate in Continuing Career development sessions
Requirements:
• Clinical Assistant License from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
• RCPSC-certified training in General Pediatrics
• Experience with critically ill neonates
• Current NRP certification or willingness to obtain
• Recent BLS certification within the last 12 months
