The City of Vaughan seeks an Animal Services Officer to monitor compliance with animal-related by-laws. You will engage in investigative practices, conduct patrols, and provide services related to sick, stray, or dangerous animals. This position requires flexibility for variable shifts, including nights and weekends, while also promoting public outreach through educational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce municipal by-laws and provincial statutes for animal control
• Conduct investigations and gather evidence related to animal offences
• Patrol assigned areas for animal control and compliance monitoring
• Issue violation notices and prepare legal documentation when necessary
• Attend court as a representative for by-law compliance cases
Requirements:
• Two years experience in animal control enforcement
• College Diploma in Veterinary Technology or Law Enforcement
• Valid Ontario Class 'G' driver’s license
• Solid problem-solving and communication skills
