About the role RIC is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Design Engineer to join our Denver team. This position is a great opportunity for a recent Civil Engineering graduate looking to begin their career and gain hands‑on design experience while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers.
The Civil Design Engineer will assist with the design and analysis of civil infrastructure projects and gain exposure to a variety of project types and technical disciplines. The position will receive mentorship and guidance from RIC’s Professional Engineers while developing the technical skills and project experience needed to grow within the profession and work toward PE licensure.
Primary Responsibilities Assist project engineers and project managers with the design and development of civil engineering projects.
Prepare plans, drawings, calculations, and other project documentation.
Assist with site grading, drainage, utility, roadway, and infrastructure design.
Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to develop project plans and designs.
Assist with preparation of technical reports, including stormwater reports and SWPPPs.
Assist with shop drawing reviews and permit applications.
Participate in internal project meetings and client meetings as appropriate.
Coordinate with other engineers, designers, surveyors, and project team members.
Manage assigned tasks and deadlines across multiple projects.
Incorporate review comments and feedback into designs and work products.
Develop an understanding of applicable design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.




Qualifications 1 year of AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
Recent graduate or up to 2 years of related civil engineering experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software
Ability to develop GIS, CAD, and data management skills.
Basic knowledge of civil engineering concepts
Strong problem-solving and math skills
Ability to perform under pressure and in a fast‑paced setting.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Education Requirements Bachelor of Science in Civil engineering from an ABET accredited university.
EI certification preferred but not required.
