About the Role
The Etcetera Group Facilitators are responsible for co-leading community-based group support activities with youth, age 11 to 18, who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+.
Position: Part Time 3-4 hours per week, Thursday availability required from 4 – 7 pm in weeks that the group is being held. Additional (optional) hours may be available for events, meetings, and projects.
Compensation: Grid level 10 $23.63 - $27.52
Qualifications
Education and experience
Experience working with youth who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ and/or lived experience in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
Training and experience in providing support, leading discussions, and facilitating activities in a group format are considered assets
Certificates or Diplomas in relevant fields are considered assets
Job skills and abilities
Demonstrated ability to work with a broad cross section of people and groups with a strength-based, capacity-building approach.
Demonstrated ability to apply a participatory approach to learning.
Demonstrated interest in working in a team setting with other staff, community agencies, and volunteers.
Strong commitment to youth and family needs, in particular for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.
Other Requirements
Criminal record check in accordance with agency policy
Valid First Aid certificate (preferred, or training will be provided to successful candidate upon hire)
Employees must declare their vaccination status for COVID-19 and influenza; if vaccinated, documentation must be provided
Personal transportation is required.
