Design made simple for the modern home. Our passion lies in furniture and design, and it is the fuel that drives our business. We are a family-run company and aim to maintain this as we continue to rapidly grow. We’re entrepreneurial. We challenge the status quo, aren’t afraid to try new ideas, and we leverage our agile structure to make smart decisions and find current opportunities.
We’re a people-first company and what we do wouldn’t be possible without our customers. For this reason, we like to say that our collections are always customer curated. Join our flexible work culture and team of creative and passionate individuals.
Reporting directly to the Manager, Product Development & Sourcing, the Data Analyst (Claims) will turn claims, returns, and customer feedback data into clear, actionable insights that help our Quality team identify and resolve product issues. As Moe’s first dedicated data analyst, this role will also help shape how claims data is collected, analyzed, and reported by improving data feeds, building recurring reports and dashboards, and developing repeatable processes and SOPs.
This is a full-time, hybrid/remote role, with Vancouver, BC preferred. The Data Analyst (Claims) will work closely with Quality (QC), the Resolutions Team, Product Development, the Asia Office, and the Moe’s, Sundays, and Hetta brand teams.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Claims data consolidation and analysis
Gather raw claims, returns and damage data from all sources (SAP, Resolutions Team logs, customer data, brand channels) into one clean, consistent dataset
Clean, standardize and categorize claims by product, SKU, vendor, defect type, channel and region
Identify trends, recurring defects and root-cause signals across Sundays, Hetta and Moe's
Summarize the top issues for QC with clear evidence (volume, cost, affected SKUs and vendors) so they can investigate and resolve
Cross-functional partnership
Work with the Resolutions Team and Customer Data to understand how claims are captured and coded
Partner with QC to track issues from detection through corrective action and confirm whether fixes reduce claims
Share findings with Product Development, Sourcing and brand teams to inform vendor and product decisions
Data feed improvement
Map current claims data sources and flows, and document gaps, duplicates and inconsistencies
Recommend improvements to data capture, such as standard defect codes, required fields and photo or SKU linkage
Help set data quality standards and check that they are followed
Reporting and SOPs
Build and maintain recurring claims reports and dashboards (e.g. weekly top issues, monthly trends by vendor and SKU)
Write SOPs for data collection, cleaning, analysis and reporting so the process is repeatable
Respond to ad hoc data requests from leadership and partner teams
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
2–4 years in a data or business analyst role, ideally in retail, e-commerce, furniture or consumer products
Advanced Excel: Power Query, pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, data cleaning
Experience pulling and working with data from SAP or another ERP
Comfortable working with data from multiple sources and making it reliable
Able to turn analysis into a clear, short story for non-technical teams
Self-directed and organized; comfortable being the first person in a role and building processes from scratch
Strong written communication, including documenting processes and SOPs,
proficient with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT).
Nice to have
Experience with claims, returns, warranty or quality data
Familiarity with product quality, sourcing or vendor management
Experience working with teams across time zones (North America and Asia)
Degree in business, statistics, data analytics or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience in the furniture, fashion, or consumer goods industry is a plus
What success looks like in year one
QC gets a regular, trusted summary of top claims issues instead of pulling data by hand
All claims sources are mapped, and a single consolidated claims dataset is in use
Recurring claims dashboards are live and used by QC, Resolutions and brand teams
SOPs cover the full claims data process, so reporting continues if the analyst is away
Fixes driven by the analysis show a measurable drop in claims for the targeted SKUs or vendors
