Our client, a specialized aviation maintenance and finishing company located near Kimberley , is seeking a skilled Aircraft Painter . This role is responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to aircraft exteriors, ensuring aesthetic appeal and protection against environmental factors. You will work with a variety of specialized coatings, preparation materials, and application techniques suitable for aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primers.
- Apply paint, primers, and coatings to aircraft exteriors using spray guns and other application methods.
- Achieve precise finishes, ensuring uniformity in color, thickness, and texture according to specifications.
- Mix paints and coatings to achieve required colors and properties.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures for handling chemicals and operating equipment.
- Inspect finished work for quality, identify defects,
and perform necessary touch-ups or rework.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a painter, with a minimum of 3 years in industrial or automotive painting.
- Experience in aircraft painting or a related aerospace finishing role is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in surface preparation techniques and the use of various painting tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of different types of coatings, solvents, and their application properties.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality finishes.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions accurately.
