The Parks Design & Development group within the Engineering Services Department - Design Division work collaboratively with the Parks & Recreation Department asset owner to deliver the ammenities required for multiple specific project areas. Reporting to the Manager of Design, the Supervisor, Parks Design & Development will be responsible for assiting in the planning, design and implementation of parks, trails and open space developments within the capital work programs for Engineering Services in the City of Brantford. The position will also involve the supervision of design and development staff.

Qualifications Applicants must have a university degree in Landscape Architecture and be eligible for membership with the OALA.




A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in landscape architecture and municipal park design, including the production of construction and architectural drawings, knowledge of plant materials, particularly native species and natural systems, and demonstrated experience in contract administration and project management.
Previous experience managing staff would be considered an asset.
Possess excellent computer skills including a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, with complementing departments and with community groups is essential.
Robust organizational and project management skills are required, including the ability to manage multiple and changing demands and priorities.
Applicants must have a valid G Ontario drivers license in good standing with full access to a personal vehicle.
IMS 200 Certification or equivalent (ICS200) is considered an asset. Subject to course availability, certification must be achieved within the first year of employment.
As a condition of employment, proof of current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications will be required.
