DEPARTMENT: AMBULATORY CARE POSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUND UNION AFFILIATION: ONA STATUS: PART-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE NOVEMBER 2027) REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENTWAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98 Reporting to the Manager, the Registered Nurse works as a collaborative member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide support to patients requiring hospital resources, technical support and/or skilled personnel in an outpatient clinic setting. Ambulatory Care serves a diverse patient population in all medical - surgical sub- specialities. Ambulatory Care is a challenging dynamic environment with a rapid pace and high turnover of patients on a daily basis.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario registration or eligibility
Physical Assessment course
Three years’ broad Medical/Surgical experience
PowerChart/Orders training or willingness to obtain (to be provided)
Venipunctures to establish an IV
IV Certification with medications below the drip chamber
Central line/PICC care - including tubing, dressing change ,line removal and blood sampling
Experience with the following skills:
Ultraviolet Light Therapy
Cast Removal and Application
Uroflow and Urodynamics
Leep Procedure
Vascular Lab Studies
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing population and patient needs required
Ability to work collaboratively with all team members




Excellent interviewing and patient assessment skills
Excellent leadership, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
Self-directed ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing clinical environment with minimal supervision
Ability to work all shifts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated interest and experience in patient education and health promotion
Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records

Preferred Baccalaureate Degree in nursing
Additional Education pertaining to surgery/medicine
BCLS Certification
