Job Description
An established and busy downtown law practice is seeking a Legal Assistant / Law Clerk to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is beginning their legal career and looking to gain hands‑on experience in a qualified legal environment. The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to lawyers and legal staff while assisting with the day‑to‑day operations of the practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the legal field, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapid‑paced office setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative and clerical support to lawyers and legal professionals
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
Assist with document management, filing, and maintaining client records
Organize and manage legal files, both electronic and physical
Required Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience as a legal assistant, law clerk,
or in a legal office workplace preferred
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and general office software
Experience with legal software such as Estate-a-Base, Closer, and PCLaw is an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Professional attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the legal field
