Job SummaryThe Events Coordinator plans, coordinates, and delivers Cyrus Centre’s fundraising and community events — owning the logistics, budgets, timelines, vendor coordination, and on-site execution that make each event a success. This role is focused on strong event delivery and follow-through, ensuring sponsor commitments are fulfilled well and every event reflects the mission and values of Cyrus Centre. The Events Coordinator works closely with the Communications Specialist, the Community Engagement Specialist, and the Executive Director, contributing to a coordinated approach to donor and community engagement across the year. The Events Coordinator is a warm and relational representative of Cyrus Centre — someone who helps sponsors, vendors, and supporters feel like part of the mission, not simply parties to a transaction.ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Delivery1. Plans, coordinates, and delivers Cyrus Centre’s two signature fundraising events — Coldest Night of the Year and Leap of Faith — owning them from concept through to post-event debrief.2. Owns event logistics end to end, including venues, vendors, timelines, run-of-show, volunteer coordination, and day-of execution.3. Represents Cyrus Centre — in collaboration with other members of the communications team — at partner-hosted events such as golf tournaments, church fundraisers, and cheque presentations.4. Develops and manages event budgets, tracks expenses, and reports on financial and attendance outcomes for each event.5. Monitors and evaluates event outcomes to inform future planning, and captures learnings to strengthen year-over-year delivery.Sponsor & Supporter Engagement6. Ensures sponsors receive the recognition, visibility, and benefits promised for each event they support. In year one, this role focuses on renewing and retaining existing sponsor relationships; identifying and cultivating new sponsors is not part of the role.7. Coordinates sponsor logistics on-site — signage, program placement, hospitality,

and post-event thank-yous — and ensures every touchpoint with sponsors and supporters feels warm, personal, and mission-connected.8. Flags sponsor-related opportunities, feedback, or concerns to the Executive Director and the wider team for follow-up and longer-term relationship cultivation.Stakeholder & Team Collaboration9. Engages a wide range of stakeholders in the lead-up to and delivery of events, including churches and faith-community partners, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and Cyrus Centre staff.10. Works closely with the Communications Specialist on event promotion, on-brand messaging, and story capture at events.11. Coordinates with the Community Engagement Specialist to align events with church engagement activity.12. Finds creative ways to bring the wider Cyrus Centre team — whose focus is day-to-day operations serving youth — into fundraising events, so staff feel connected to the work and its supporters.13. Explores opportunities to expand existing events or develop current ones, whether run by Cyrus Centre or in collaboration with community partners.14. Represents Cyrus Centre at community events and public engagements to build relationships and promote awareness.15. Perform other duties as assigned within the same scope and level of the role.Skills & Abilities· Strong event coordination and project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate initiatives within budget and timeline.· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple moving parts and hold timelines without losing quality.· Comfortable picking up the phone rather than defaulting to email, and confident engaging a wide range of people — sponsors, vendors, volunteers,

church partners, and community members.· Collaborative and team-oriented, able to work closely with the Communications Specialist, Community Engagement Specialist, and the wider Cyrus Centre team.· Solutions-oriented, adaptable, and able to problem-solve on the fly — especially on event days when plans need to shift quickly.· Warm, relational approach that reflects Cyrus Centre’s culture and values, with a heart to make sponsors, vendors, and supporters feel like part of the mission.· Strong internal communication skills, with creativity in engaging colleagues whose day-to-day focus is program delivery, and bringing them into the life of fundraising events.· Creative and exploratory — open to expanding existing events or developing new opportunities, either self-run or in partnership with others.· A strategic thinker who can see how a single event fits into Cyrus Centre’s broader donor and community engagement calendar is a strong asset.· Proficient in using digital tools such as Eventbrite, HubSpot, Asana, and Microsoft Teams (or willingness to learn).· Strong writing and visual presentation skills for event promotions and internal communications.· Aligned with faith-based service values and the mission, values, and culture of Cyrus Centre.· Ability to operate within the Microsoft Office 365 suite of products.Qualifications· Post-secondary education in Event Planning, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).· 2–4 years of relevant experience in event planning, fundraising events, or a related coordinator role.· Training or certifications in fundraising, marketing, or nonprofit events are assets.· Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends around event schedules.· Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.· Demonstrated alignment with Cyrus Centre’s Christian mission and values.Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
