Jardeg is currently recruiting experienced Carpenter Journeypersons to join our team on the Newell Substation Project ! The ideal candidate will have a robust background in concrete formwork and civil infrastructure.

This position is located on a project in Burnaby, BC and does not have camp accommodations or living out allowance.

This is 5 days on, and 2 days off schedule with the possibility of working afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Construct, install, and dismantle concrete formwork systems

Build and maintain temporary work platforms, access systems, and staging for pre-engineered formwork systems

Install embedded items such as anchors, dowels, and reinforcing assemblies to engineered specifications

Work safely implementing approved fall protection systems

Measure, cut, and assemble wood, plywood, and formwork materials accurately

Assist with concrete pours, including form preparation, bracing, stripping, and finishing activities.

Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layout information.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project quality standards and safety procedures





Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Participate in toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and safety meetings.

Inform immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures

Act as a work leader and mentor to apprentice carpenters

Requirements

Preference will be given to a candidate that has a Carpenter Journeyperson Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority

Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade

Experience with concrete formwork is required

Experience working on civil, infrastructure and/or heavy construction projects

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Reliable transportation to get to work

Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
