As a Pediatric Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to infants,children, and adolescents in various healthcare settings. Your role isessential in promoting the health and well-being of young patients andsupporting their families through medical procedures and treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and monitor the health status ofpediatric patients, including taking vital signs, conducting physical exams,and gathering medical histories.
Develop and implement individualized care plansbased on the unique needs of each child, collaborating with physicians andother healthcare professionals.
Administer medications, vaccinations, andtreatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosages and patient safety.
Educate patients and their families about medicalconditions, treatment options, and preventative care, providing support andresources as needed.
Manage medical equipment and assist withdiagnostic tests and procedures specific to pediatric patients.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patientrecords, documenting observations, interventions, and patient progress.
Advocate for the needs and rights of pediatricpatients, ensuring a compassionate and supportive workplace.
Stay informed about developments in pediatricnursing practices, treatments, and healthcare regulations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; anAssociate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) may be acceptable with relevant experience.
Previous experience in pediatric nursing or arelated field is preferred.
Strong clinical skills and a thoroughunderstanding of pediatric healthcare.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsto effectively interact with children and their families.
Ability to work collaboratively within ahealthcare team and provide compassionate care.
