Join the Mental Health Program at Providence Health Care, working on teams across the organization as we prepare for the current St. Paul’s Hospital opening in 2027. In this role, you'll leverage your lived experience to assist patients and families facing mental health and substance use challenges. Your insights will foster trust and enhance care from both patients and providers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide peer advocacy and emotional support to patients
• Connect individuals with essential harm reduction services
• Facilitate culturally safe and trauma-informed care
• Engage in strategic planning for peer-informed services
• Liaise between patients and health care teams
Requirements:
• Certificate in Social Services or addiction field
• Lived experience relevant to the client group
• Completion of recognized Peer Support Training
• Knowledge of harm reduction and cultural humility
• Effective communication skills in diverse settings
