You will maintain and troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems across UBC facilities, ensuring all units run reliably. Reporting to the Trades Manager, you will install current machinery, perform preventive maintenance, and read schematics to support critical operations. Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose mechanical failures on refrigeration and air conditioning units
• Install and optimize new HVAC machinery and equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and conduct regular inspections
• Maintain lab cooling systems and environmental control units
• Mentor apprentices in refrigeration practices
Requirements:
• Red Seal or BCTQ Refrigeration Mechanic certification
• 3–5 years of industrial experience
• Valid BC Class 5 driver's licence
• Knowledge of mechanical trades and troubleshooting
• Preferred: 4th Class Power Engineer certificate
