Job Summary
The Team
The Surrey Provincial Court, Court Administration team is an established team of more than 72 dedicated staff who support registry and in-court services, case documentation, and adjudication support across criminal, family, child protection, small claims, traffic, and youth matters. Working collaboratively with justice partners, the team plays an important role in supporting access to justice and is committed to a respectful, inclusive, and supportive workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are valued.
The Role
As a Court Clerk, you provide essential administrative and courtroom support before, during, and after court proceedings, while delivering respectful, accessible, and timely services to the public, legal professionals, and other justice system partners. You manage court records, technology, exhibits, financial transactions, and case information with accuracy and confidentiality, while supporting and mentoring colleagues and helping ensure that court processes are inclusive, consistent, and responsive to the diverse needs of people who use the court.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
Related Experience may include
Minimum of two years' administrative support or customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum of one-year previous work experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Keyboard speed of 40 word per minute.
Valid B.C. drivers' licence.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).
Experience providing customer service.
Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.
One year of previous work experience in a legal environment.
