Elevate student learning as a Temporary Itinerant Student Resource Teacher focused on Indigenous Education. Work collaboratively to enhance educational outcomes for grades 9-12 within Halton District School Board.
This position involves providing targeted support for students and teachers from grades 9 to 12, promoting improved student achievement. You will collaborate closely with the System Principal of Indigenous Education and share strategies with school teams. Your role requires robust interpersonal skills and an understanding of Indigenous perspectives to build relationships with students and families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Communicate with school teams for academic interventions
• Co-develop instructional strategies for better student engagement
• Maintain confidentiality while tracking student progress
• Regularly communicate with System Principals regarding resources
• Support principles aligned with the Ministry of Education’s framework
Requirements:
• Ontario College of Teachers’ Certificate of Qualification
• Special Education Part 1 Qualification needed
• Preferred Intermediate/Senior English or Math Qualifications
• Experience with Indigenous communities is a plus
• Knowledge of Primary/Junior Curriculum required
