Become a vital part of the team at West Coast Seniors Housing Management as a Casual Maintenance Worker in Nanaimo, BC. This role focuses on maintaining safety and efficiency in our community through various maintenance tasks and responsibilities.
You will report to the General Manager or designate and be responsible for daily maintenance activities. The position requires solid skills in repairs, inspections, and general maintenance to ensure a secure environment for residents and staff alike. Your role will significantly contribute to the comfort and safety of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect and log operating condition of all equipment
• Complete general repairs in electrical and plumbing aspects
• Schedule and supervise service in the Maintenance Manager’s absence
• Implement snow removal and pest control programs
• Assist in fire safety drills and compliance with safety regulations
Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year work experience in building maintenance
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office
• Ability to communicate professionally with various stakeholders
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and independent work
