We are small and fast-moving, which means what you do is visible and it matters.About the roleWe are looking for a hands-on accountant to run our internal day-to-day accounting alongside our CFO and the broader accounting team. You will keep our financial records accurate, current and audit-ready — the unglamorous work that everything else depends on.We would rather be straight about what this is. Most of your week is accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations and month-end support, done carefully and done on time. It is a precision role, not a strategic one. If you like closing the loop on things and leaving a clean trail behind you, you will enjoy it.What you'll be doingAccounts receivablePrepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on scheduleMonitor AR aging, follow up on overdue accounts, and apply cash receiptsAccounts payableRun the full AP cycle — receive, verify,
code and reconcile vendor invoicesProcess vendor payments and keep vendor records organized and completeGeneral accountingSupport general ledger maintenance and account reconciliationsPrepare and post journal entries as part of month-end closeKeep financial records complete and well organized, so that any review or audit is straightforwardSupport the CFO with ad-hoc analysis and reportingWhat we're looking forOne to three years in a transactional accounting role — AR, AP, general ledger or similarA college diploma or university degree in accounting, finance or a related fieldComfortable working in English with a Canada-based finance teamAble to commit 15–20 hours a week consistently, with overlap with Eastern Time business hoursOrganized and accurate, and able to pick up a task and carry it to the end without being chasedNice to haveERP experienceExposure to a consulting, professional services or SaaS environmentExperience in a small team where you owned your area end to endComfort with multi-currency transactionsHow we workWe are direct with each other.
