We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to join our resource classroom!

Qualification Requirements

Education & Credentials

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a licensed Special Education Teacher or in a closely related professional role.
- Valid Utah Driver's License with reliable personal transportation for local district travel.
- Compliance with district immunization guidelines or an approved health department exemption.
- Crisis Management: Ability to complete district-approved research-based training on de-escalation strategies and the cycle of crisis (e.g., ASPEN, Mandt).
- Instructional Leadership: Proven ability to model high-leverage teaching strategies, implement positive behavioral supports, and cultivate strong classroom environments.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Demonstrated skill in building team-oriented relationships across diverse groups, including students, families, school teams, district administration, and community patrons.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

- Lifting & Physical Support: Occasional floor-to-waist and awkward lifting (up to 75 lbs), pushing/pulling (100+ lbs), single-arm lifting to shoulder level (up to 20 lbs), and isometric static holding (up to 20 lbs for 5–8 minutes).
- Mobility & Stamina: Frequent standing, walking, stair climbing, sitting (chair and floor),



and transitioning to/from the ground without upper extremity support. Occasional balancing on slick surfaces, running, sustained bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping.
- Fine Motor & Sensory: Occasional gripping (50 lbs), pinching (10 lbs), near/far visual acuity, depth perception, and auditory function.
- Safety & Student Support: Must be able to provide physical guidance and/or physical restraint in accordance with LRBI Manual guidelines, as determined by the Special Education Department.
