Bookkeeper / Tax Preparer | Competitive Salary | Essex, Ontario
full time | Year-round employment
Ideally have 2-3+ years on the job experience in a public / accounting firm completing all of the following: T1 and T2 and financial statement preparation in addition to dealing with CRA regarding matters such as GST/HST returns, reconciling tax accounts etc.
You will be responsible for:
Tax Preparer – personal and/or business taxes
- Explain the tax filing process and prepare tax returns
- Prepare tax returns according to established guidelines and identify any possible errors
- Prepare tax refunds or payments due
- Answer questions regarding tax rules
- Research changes in the tax code
About You
- Have on the job experience working on Sage 50 and Excel while Quickbooks would be a bonus
- Must have explicit verbal communication skills in order to speak with clients
- Be able to work to deadlines
- Display excellent organizational skills and be able to prioritize your workload
Variable hours:
- Jan/Feb (45 hours/week Monday - Friday plus many Saturdays),
- March/April (50-60 hours/week – Monday-Saturday),
- May/June (45 hours/week Monday – Friday plus many Saturdays),
- July – December (35 hours/week Monday - Friday)
Compensation
- Salaried position with the pay rate flexible depending on education and work experience
