Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and vans, to deliver freight to various locations efficiently and on schedule
- Load and unload cargo using provided equipment, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of goods
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to maintain safety standards and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Verify delivery orders, documentation, and freight manifests to ensure accuracy before departure and upon arrival
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues quickly
- Maintain detailed records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and freight movements for compliance and tracking purposes
- Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating vehicles
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and proper loading/unloading techniques
- Basic automotive repair skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance or troubleshoot issues as needed
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation and delivery verification
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with team members and customers
- Physical stamina to lift heavy packages, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks comfortably
