Diverse Learners Tutoring is seeking an experienced Executive Functioning Coach to join our growing team.

We specialize in supporting students with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, learning disabilities, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and executive functioning challenges.

We are looking for someone who goes beyond helping students organize their assignments or complete their homework. Our Executive Functioning Coaches explicitly teach students the skills and strategies they need to plan, organize, manage their time, initiate tasks, and become increasingly independent learners.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized one-to-one executive functioning support to primarily middle and high school students, including:

- Teaching planning and prioritization strategies
- Developing time-management and time-estimation skills
- Supporting task initiation and follow-through
- Teaching students how to break larger assignments and projects into manageable steps
- Developing personalized systems for tracking assignments, deadlines, and responsibilities
- Teaching organization of physical and digital school materials
- Developing study strategies and test/exam preparation routines
- Supporting goal setting and progress monitoring
- Teaching self-monitoring and reflection strategies
- Helping students identify which strategies work best for their individual learning profile
- Building independence and self-advocacy
- Applying EF strategies directly to current academic responsibilities
- Gradually reducing adult support as students become more independent
- Communicating with families regarding progress and strategies when appropriate

This is not simply a homework-help or organizational position. We are specifically looking for someone who can teach students how to manage their responsibilities rather than managing those responsibilities for them.

Qualifications

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Counselling, or a related field




- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working with school-aged students or adolescents
- Experience supporting students with ADHD and executive functioning challenges
- Demonstrated experience teaching executive functioning, organizational, study, or learning strategies
- Strong understanding of how executive functioning differences affect learning and academic performance
- Ability to build strong rapport with adolescents
- Ability to provide structure and accountability while promoting independence
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid BC driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle
- Willingness to complete a Criminal Record Check prior to working with students

Strong Assets

- Formal training or certification in Executive Functioning Coaching, ADHD Coaching, or a related evidence-informed approach
- Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, or a related field
- Experience as a Learning Support, Resource, Special Education, or Student Support teacher
- Experience working with students with learning disabilities and other neurodivergent learning profiles
- Experience interpreting psychoeducational assessments and IEPs
- Experience supporting Grade 8–12 students
- Experience helping students transition to university or other post-secondary settings

Position Details

Position: Independent Contractor Compensation: $50–$65/hour, depending on experience, education, and specialized training Location: Vancouver & Lower Mainland Format: Primarily in-person,



with online opportunities where appropriate Schedule: Primarily after-school and evening hours

This is a caseload-based position. Hours are not guaranteed, and students are offered and added gradually based on practitioner availability, expertise, geographic location, and student fit. Access to a vehicle is an asset.

Practitioners can indicate their preferred caseload and availability.

Geographically Bound Caseload

We aim to keep each practitioner's caseload within an agreed-upon geographic service area rather than requiring travel throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

Applicants will be asked to identify the neighbourhoods or communities they are comfortable serving. Students are matched geographically whenever possible to create a practical and sustainable caseload.
