We are looking for a highly motivated HR Advisor to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be facilitating the daily operations of the HR department, with a strong focus on critical functions such as recruitment, meticulous documentation management, and fostering positive employee relations. if you are an enthusiastic individual who can deal with changing priorities on the fly, and solve tough problems, then this opportunity is for you!
Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Advisor supports the execution of HR initiatives by performing a wide range of administrative, coordination, and analyst-level activities across core human resources functions. This a 16-month maternity leave position.
What is the role?
Operations:
- HR Monthly and Annual report for Carmacks, HJR, and SCH, BA Blacktop, but pulling relevant reports from E-HR system, and/or gathering information from Payroll or HR trackers
- Collect and review employee relations matters with HR Director, track all information in tracker
- Perform or assist with workplace investigations assigned by HR Director
- Coordinates the complete program for the Carmacks Service award program
- Coordinate and attend Career fairs when required
- Supports field and office year-round Carmacks employees by coordinating and delivering education and training initiatives, administering and distributing annual performance reviews, preparing required reporting, tracking completion, following up as needed, and communicating timelines, expectations, and outcomes to employees and leaders.
- Assist HR Director with Annual Office Appraisals in E-HR system, communicate where required, pull reports, adjust when needed.
- Monitor Employee suggestion box submissions for CMSL Calgary and complete responses/actions in tracker
- Assist with volunteer events where required
- Help coordinate and communicate apprenticeship/RAP program to employees, communicate bonus amounts to Payroll when applicable.
- Communicate and coordinate Women Building Futures programs with CMSL Edmonton/Calgary
- Coordinate CMSL Calgary’s sick leave program, collect medical documentation, complete LTD forms, and update payroll tracker
- Works with HR Director with CMSL Annual COLA increases and level increases
- Act as a backup for coordination, enrollment, and communications for the Carmacks Office Supervisory benefit plan
- Plan content for HR Sway page HR News page and update regularly
HR Team
- Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to areas of responsibility
- Complete full cycle recruitment for relevant assigned areas, along with positions assigned by HR Director
- Updating and creating interview plans, job descriptions or other HR documentation where required
- Complete onboarding for all hourly or salary positions for relevant assigned areas
- Deliver office onboarding training to new employees for assigned office/s
- Assist the team with HR communications for the department and responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, perks and programs
- Complete 90-day and exit surveys for assigned areas
- With team, monitor Swag inventory, distribute and replenish stock as required
- Provide support to the HR Director to Performance Management program,
HR Policies, Castor Share purchase plan, and on other ad hoc projects
- Promote employee referral program, follow up with all referrals and update referral program checklist, assists with entering information into the tracking system
- Attend diversity workshops or events as assigned
- Maintain confidential information
- Other duties as assigned
What do we value?
- 3-5 years in HR administration/coordination
- Working experience with HR Information systems
- Excellent computer literacy and application skills with commonly used office productivity tools
- Skilled at researching, investigating and gathering information from internet and other resources
