The Role

We are seeking a Junior Designer to join our team with a focus on industrial ventilation. This entry-level opportunity is well suited to a recent Building Systems Technology graduate or a designer with up to five years of related experience. You will support the development of practical ventilation design solutions for industrial projects while working closely with experienced engineers and designers.

If you are technically minded, comfortable working with drawings and design information, and interested in building hands-on experience in industrial ventilation, this role offers a robust opportunity for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities





· Assist with the design and layout of industrial ventilation systems under the guidance of engineers and designers

· Prepare and revise technical drawings, layouts, and design documentation using CAD software

· Develop detailed 3D models of ventilation systems

· Support ventilation system calculations, equipment selection, and preparation of design specifications

· Review architectural, mechanical, and process drawings to coordinate ventilation requirements with other disciplines

· Assist with field measurements, site reviews, and collection of information required for design work

· Support the preparation of project deliverables, including drawings, equipment schedules, and technical documentation

· Work with project teams to address design changes, coordination items, and technical issues

· Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with internal team members and clients

· Continue developing technical knowledge of industrial ventilation systems, applicable design practices, and industry standards

Eligibility to Work in Canada:

· This position is based in Fredericton, New Brunswick.





· Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents currently residing in Canada with legal authorization to work.

Education & Certification:

· Graduate of NBCC Building Systems Technology, or an equivalent diploma/technical program

Experience & Skills:

· Entry-level to five years of relevant design or technical experience

· Interest in industrial ventilation and mechanical/building systems design

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and design documentation

· Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

· Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently when needed

· Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD/design software is an asset

· Exposure to industrial facilities, mechanical systems, or ventilation equipment is an asset

· Valid driver’s license for travel to client sites

Compensation

· $22.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience
