We are seeking an experienced L&D; Designer/Developer III to join our client’s growing team. In this role, you will have a national mandate to conduct needs analysis, recommend strategies, and design high-quality learning solutions that support key business priorities.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity with the possibility of extension or conversion based on performance and business needs. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring 4 days on-site per week at our client’s office in either Markham, ON or Ottawa, ON.

As an L&D; Designer/Developer III, you will collaborate closely with learning design leadership and internal cross‑functional partners to develop engaging, accessible, and impactful learning programs. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in adult learning principles and technical content development. This position demands a blend of strong project management skills, technical proficiency in eLearning authoring tools, and the ability to craft compelling presentation materials for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

- Design high-quality, multi-approach blended learning and performance solutions that align with strategic business priorities.
- Conduct needs analysis and collaborate with business and functional partners to understand project, program, and curriculum requirements.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert applying adult learning principles and leading industry best practices across content design and development.
- Lead project scoping and planning while setting high standards for the learner experience to ensure learning objectives are met.




- Ensure learner accessibility and integrate principles of diversity and inclusion into online learning solutions (e.g., eBooks, graphic-rich deliverables, eLearning/simulations, online performance support tools).
- Build solid relationships with internal partners to ensure open communication and project alignment.
- Develop high-impact presentation and communication materials tailored for senior management.
- Continuously enhance subject matter expertise, participate in knowledge transfer, and support team members through cross‑training and coaching.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Instructional Design, learning content development.
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, eLearning authoring tools (Storyline 360, Rise 360), and video creation tools (e.g., Powtoon).
- Demonstrated experience developing presentation and communication materials for senior leadership.
- Strong project management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- Instructional design experience within a Financial Institution.
