Join EPCOR Water Services as an Engineering Student and gain hands-on experience supporting long-term planning, asset management, and operational strategy initiatives for water and wastewater treatment facilities. In this role, you'll work alongside engineers and technical professionals to support projects that help ensure reliable, sustainable services for the communities we serve.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Student, you'll support a variety of planning and strategy initiatives. You'll:

- Assist with long-term planning activities for water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure
- Support the development and improvement of planning tools, communication resources, SharePoint sites, dashboards, and information management systems
- Conduct research, benchmarking studies, and industry reviews to identify best practices and support strategic initiatives
- Assist in the preparation and review of technical reports, planning documents, procedures, templates,



and technical memorandums
- Compile, analyze, and communicate information that supports asset management, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the development of integrated resource plans, asset strategies, and future operational planning documents
- Prepare presentations, figures, dashboards, and spreadsheets for a variety of audiences
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and external stakeholders to gather information and support planning projects
- Assist engineers and leaders with special projects and emerging business priorities
- Contribute to a safe, accountable, innovative, and high-performing work environment

What you bring

- Currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's Degree program in Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institute
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Ability to analyze information and communicate findings in a clear and concise manner
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel

What sets you apart

- Experience with SharePoint and Power BI
- Experience developing dashboards and visual reporting tools
- Familiarity with Oracle BI or similar business intelligence platforms
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes
- Interest in asset management, infrastructure planning, or strategic planning

- A requirement of working for EPCOR is that you are at least 18 years of age, successfully attained a high school diploma (GED, or equivalent level of secondary education) and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
- If you are considered for the position, clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational, and/or credit) and professional reference checks is required. Some EPCOR positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
- A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and this exercise will be used as a part of the selection criterion.
- To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions.

Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required.

- Prior infractions for unsafe driving behaviours will be evaluated and considered for non-selection regardless of current demerits on file.
- Successful applicants must provide their own vehicles with appropriate insurance in accordance with EPCOR's Employee Mileage Reimbursement Policy. You will be reimbursed in accordance with EPCOR's Employee Mileage Reimbursement Policy.
- The results of this competition may be used to fill similar vacant positions for up to six (6) months.
