About The Leo

The Leo is a new seafood and chop house in Downtown Markham, offering a refined dining experience built around premium steaks, exceptional seafood, handcrafted cocktails, and genuine hospitality.

We are looking for passionate, professional Servers to join our opening team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy creating memorable guest experiences, and take pride in delivering exceptional service, we'd love to meet you.

The Role

You will be the face of The Leo, guiding guests through our menu, providing thoughtful recommendations, and delivering attentive, polished service from the moment they arrive until the end of their dining experience.

The ideal candidate is personable, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and committed to creating unforgettable hospitality.

Responsibilities

- Deliver warm, professional, and engaging service throughout every guest's visit
- Develop a thorough understanding of our food, wine, cocktail, and beverage menus
- Confidently guide guests through menu selections and provide recommendations
- Accurately enter orders and communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar teams
- Serve food and beverages with precision, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully prepared service stations
- Process payments accurately through the POS system
- Follow Smart Serve guidelines and practice responsible alcohol service
- Work collaboratively with hosts, bartenders, food runners, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service
- Uphold The Leo's standards of hospitality, cleanliness,



and professionalism

Qualifications

- Minimum 1–2 years of serving experience in an upscale restaurant, steakhouse, seafood restaurant, or fine-dining environment preferred
- Smart Serve Certification (required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits, and food pairing is considered a strong asset
- Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods
- Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required
- Previous opening restaurant experience is considered an asset
