- Pay Rate: C$60.00–C$70.00 / Hour (CAD)

Job Summary

This Performance Engineer role supports projects across the enterprise within a large, collaborative team, offering a long-term engagement backing important initiatives for a leading financial institution. The scope of the role may span anywhere across the enterprise, and the position is being opened as a backfill. Performance will be measured by deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

- Demonstrate extensive experience in end-to-end Performance Engineering
- Execute activities across all phases of Performance Engineering including Requirement Gathering, Planning, Scripting, Execution, Analysis, Troubleshooting, Tuning, and Reporting to evaluate and improve application performance

Required Skills

- JMeter – Proficient in developing and executing performance testing scripts and scenarios, with the ability to enhance/customize using advanced scripting techniques
- Dynatrace – Strong expertise in deep-dive performance monitoring and analysis, providing actionable insights to diagnose and resolve bottlenecks
- Performance Testing – Skilled in defining workload models, simulating production-like scenarios, executing large-scale performance tests, and analyzing results to ensure system stability, scalability, and reliability
- Non-Functional Requirements & Architecture – Solid understanding of NFRs, system architecture, and technology stacks to ensure comprehensive performance coverage
- Performance Tuning & Optimization – Ability to fine-tune application, database, and infrastructure components for optimal performance

Log Analysis & Datadog – Skilled in log-based diagnostics and observability for identifying and resolving complex performance issues
- SRE Skillsets – Exposure to Chaos Engineering, Observability, Monitoring production workloads, and contributing towards transition into an SRE role
- Test Data & Virtualization – Ability to define test data strategy, collaborate with TDM teams, and develop Virtual Services using Mountebank for performance testing
- Client-Side & End-User Experience – Experience with tools to measure and enhance end-user performance experience
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, operations, and business stakeholders to analyze results, recommend optimizations, and drive performance improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable performance gains

Education Requirements

- Bachelor's degree required
- Certifications not mandatory

Required Experience

- Ideally 6 years of overall experience in Performance Engineering
- Previous experience at TD is ideal
