Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee the company's payroll operations. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely processing of employee wages, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, and manage payroll-related data using various HR and accounting software. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in multiple payroll systems, and a solid understanding of human resources and accounting principles to support the organization’s financial integrity and employee satisfaction.
Along with Payroll duties, you will be doing data entry making sure all the accounting stats for the company are correct. Candidate must have some sort of knowledge of how drivers are paid on per mile and how that is calculated.
Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll
- Ensure accurate data entry related to employee hours, wages, benefits, and deductions.
- Reconcile accounts related to payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare reports on payroll data for management review and audit purposes.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to update employee records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Handle inquiries from employees regarding payroll issues or questions.
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks related to payroll expenses and general ledger entries.
- Support the implementation of new payroll systems or updates to existing platforms.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing payroll functions
- Solid understanding of accounting principles including account reconciliation, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable processes.
- Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret payroll data and generate reports for decision-making.
- Knowledge of human resources practices related to compensation and benefits administration.
- Experience with payroll compliance regulations at federal and state levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
