HR Manager – Manufacturing
Location: Halton Region, Ontario
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Compensation: $110,000–$150,000 annually, based on experience
Staff Plus is supporting an established manufacturing organization in the Halton Region with the recruitment of an accomplished HR Manager.
Reporting to senior HR leadership, the HR Manager will guide a team of HR professionals and oversee the delivery of effective, consistent and responsive HR support across the organization.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands manufacturing operations, is confident managing complex workplace matters and knows how to build credibility with employees, operational leaders and senior management.
The Leadership Mandate
People Leadership
You will set the direction and operating rhythm for the HR team, establish clear expectations, allocate priorities and coach HR professionals in their continued development. You will also strengthen accountability, collaboration and service delivery across the function.
Employee Relations:
As a senior escalation point, you will guide complex and sensitive employee matters, including workplace investigations, performance concerns, attendance issues, discipline and terminations. You will help leaders reach fair, consistent and well-supported decisions while managing organizational risk.
Business Partnership:
You will work closely with operational and senior leaders to understand business challenges, anticipate workforce requirements and provide practical HR guidance. This includes supporting organizational changes, staffing strategies, workforce optimization and evolving departmental needs.
Culture and Employee Experience:
You will use employee feedback and organizational trends to identify opportunities for improvement. You will help translate engagement findings into practical action plans that strengthen communication, retention, leadership effectiveness and the overall employee experience.
Compliance and Risk Management:
You will ensure HR practices remain aligned with employment legislation, internal policies and applicable workplace agreements. You will also strengthen documentation, support audit readiness and oversee the consistent development and application of HR policies.
HR Programs and Continuous Improvement:
You will contribute to compensation reviews, benefits, recognition and wellness initiatives while identifying opportunities to improve HR processes. You will be encouraged to challenge inefficient practices and introduce solutions that improve consistency, responsiveness and business value.
What You Bring
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
- CHRP designation required; CHRL designation preferred
- At least seven years of progressive Human Resources experience
- A minimum of three years leading and developing HR professionals
- Direct HR experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employees
- Strong capability in employee relations, investigations and performance management
- Experience advising leaders on workforce planning and organizational change
- Sound knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR compliance
- Strong judgment, discretion and confidence managing sensitive situations
- A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
