Bells & Whistles is looking for a Line Cook to join our kitchen team in the heart of Fraserhood.

Bells is a high-volume neighbourhood restaurant built around great food, great drinks, sports, and a room that knows how to get busy. Our menu takes inspiration from classic Americana and comfort food — burgers, fried chicken, fish & chips, fresh salads, snacks, brunch and plenty in between — made with quality ingredients and a focus on doing the simple things really well.

We’re looking for a cook who likes that kind of kitchen: busy, organized, collaborative and consistent.

THE ROLE

As a Line Cook at Bells, you’ll work alongside our Chef and kitchen team to execute a busy, established menu while maintaining the quality and consistency our guests expect.

You’ll:

- Work a variety of stations and execute dishes accurately and consistently

- Set yourself and your station up properly for service

- Complete daily prep efficiently and to standard

- Maintain strong organization, cleanliness and food-safety practices

- Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with the rest of the kitchen

- Move with urgency and stay composed when the board fills up

- Help manage product carefully and minimize unnecessary waste

- Take ownership of your station from setup through service and close

- Contribute to a kitchen culture built around respect, accountability and teamwork

- Has previous experience working in a professional kitchen

- Is comfortable in a high-volume restaurant environment

- Understands the importance of prep, organization and a clean station

- Can work quickly without letting standards slip

- Communicates well and genuinely works as part of a team

- Is reliable, punctual and prepared

- Takes feedback well and wants to continue getting better

- Takes pride in the food they put in the window

You don't need to arrive knowing every dish or every system. We can teach our menu. We're looking for solid fundamentals, a strong work ethic and someone who cares about doing the job well.
