The National Club is seeking professional, personable, and service-focused Banquet Servers to join our Food & Beverage team.

As a Banquet Server, you will play an important role in the successful execution of the Club’s private events, meetings, receptions, dinners, and other catered functions. Working closely with Banquet Captains, the Catering Supervisor, and the Food & Beverage team, you will help ensure each event is delivered seamlessly and to the high standards expected by our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide professional, warm, attentive, and personalized service to Club members and guests throughout banquet and catered events.
- Assist with the setup and preparation of banquet and function spaces, including tables, chairs, place settings, buffets, service stations, and reception areas.
- Review event details and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with the Banquet Captain or supervisor.
- Execute plated, buffet, reception, and beverage service according to event requirements and Club service standards.
- Serve food, wine, and other beverages accurately, professionally, and efficiently.
- Maintain knowledge of event menus, ingredients, beverages, and wines to confidently respond to member and guest questions.
- Anticipate member and guest needs throughout events, including replenishing beverages, clearing tables, and resetting service areas.
- Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, special requests, and service requirements clearly to the appropriate team members.
- Maintain clean, organized, properly stocked, and presentation-ready banquet rooms and service areas.
- Assist with event teardown, room resets, opening and closing duties, and preparation for upcoming functions.
- Handle Club equipment, glassware, china, silverware, linens, and other assets carefully and responsibly.
- Work collaboratively with culinary, stewarding, Food & Beverage,



and other Club departments.
- Follow Club standards and procedures related to food safety, responsible alcohol service, workplace health and safety, grooming, and qualified conduct.
- Attend pre-shift briefings, meetings, and training sessions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support banquet and Club operations.

Qualifications

- Previous banquet, catering, restaurant, or food and beverage serving experience is preferred.
- Experience in a private club, luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or high-end event environment is considered an asset.
- A warm, professional, and guest-focused personality with a genuine passion for hospitality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to polished service.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from Banquet Captains and supervisors.

Job Requirements

- Valid Smart Serve Certification is required.
- Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
- Professional appearance and commitment to the Club’s grooming and uniform standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the Club’s event schedule.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift.
- Ability to carry trays, plates, glassware, beverages, and banquet supplies safely.
- Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 30 lbs. (14 kg).
- Ability to regularly bend, reach, push, and pull while setting up, servicing, and resetting event spaces.
- Ability to safely transport food and beverages while maintaining professional service and presentation standards.
