Applications are invited from teachers with BC Certification for the following teaching position: Fort Rupert Elementary School, Port Hardy, BC 0.20 FTE Temporary – Grade 4/5 Commencing: September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 or return of the incumbent, whichever comes first The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- intermediate teaching experience; - robust classroom management skills; - the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies; - strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills to communicate with students, staff,
and parents in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning; - strong formative assessment practices; - ability to communicate student learning through the use of digital portfolio assessment and three way conferencing; - experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems; - ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning; - strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and - ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices. The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $71,425 to $119,497, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
The Remote
